Overview
Regularisation of Status Program (ROSP) is a one-time initiative designed to grant legal residency to certain categories of undocumented
migrants and visa overstayers. Eligible individuals will be allowed to regularize their immigration status.
Who can apply
You may apply ROSP if you meet below conditions:
- You have entered Australia before 1 January 2025
- You are able to provide evidence of integration into the local community, such as employment, education, or social connections
- You must meet the character requirements, including:
- no serious criminal convictions or ongoing criminal activities
- have been of good conduct while residing in Australia
- low risk to the safety and security of the Australian community
- cooperative with Australian immigration and law enforcement authorities
How to apply
Complete an application form and submit to the Australian Department of Immigration.
You will require to attend an interview with immigration officers to verify your eligibility with supporting documents and evidence.
After the assessment, successful applicants will be granted legal residency status.
Supporting evidence you may need
- Documentation proving your presence and continuous residency in Australia, such as:
- Utility bills
- Rent receipts
- School or work records
- Statements from community members
- Original passport, visa stamps or other document showing the date of entry into Australia
